Building on the recent launch of the new Listerine Total Care Enamel Repair, Listerine presents the ‘Decalogue for a healthy mouth’, prepared by Dr. Elias Casal, President of the Spanish Society of Oral Epidemiology and Public Health (SESP) and Associate Professor of Unit Preventive and Community Dentistry (UB), which collects some simple guidelines for oral hygiene, which will help you keep your smile healthy and beautiful. Attentive!

Prevention is better than cure. Good oral hygiene is the best way to prevent the onset of disease in the mouth. It also helps us to have a beautiful and healthy smile.
Brush your teeth carefully after every meal for at least two minutes to remove the biofilm attached to the teeth. Remember all surfaces of the teeth and follow a fixed order not to miss any area.
It is important to follow three steps to maintain a healthy mouth. First brush your teeth with a soft bristles toothbrush and toothpaste with fluoride, then uses dental floss and rinse with an antiseptic mouthwash to reach interdental spaces.
Use a soft bristles toothbrush, fluoride toothpaste, floss and mouthwash. Fluoride repairs and strengthens the tooth surface by direct contact. A higher concentration and longer, the greater the effect.
Use a mouthwash that contains fluoride to remineralize your tooth enamel and prevent wear, thus strengthening your teeth.
Change your toothbrush every 3 months, as the brush becomes less effective and not seize the time spent brushing. Use a size of pasta the size of a pea. For children under 3 years using less toothpaste.
Do not smoke. The snuff increases the risk of cancer, causes premature loss of teeth, bad breath and promotes dental surface stains.
Do not abuse avoid sweet foods and fruit juices and soft drinks, especially between meals. Increase the risk of caries. Drink water.
Visit your dentist at least once a year for a visit of inspection and maintenance. Children should make their first visit about two years, they have gone almost all teeth.
